The chemical tanker cargo tank venting system is an important part of a chemical tanker. This paper introduces the functions and types of the cargo tank venting system, gives some suggestion for layout, installation and inspection of the venting system according to the requirement of international conventions and classification society’s rules, providing technical support for the installation of the cargo tank venting system for newly built chemical tankers and the improvement of flame arrester device of cargo tank venting systm for existing chemical tankers.
