习近平总书记在全国教育大会上系统总结了党的十八大以来教育事业取得的伟大成就,充分强调了推动教育事业发展的重要性,对加强和改进今后一段时期教育工作作出了新的战略部署。办好人民满意的教育,关键在于做到"九个坚持",这是对我国教育事业现状的深刻认识和对教育规律的准确把握,是推进教育现代化的根本指南。对于高校来说,在全面贯彻落实"九个坚持"的同时,办好新时代人民满意的教育必须充分认识教育在整体发展战略中的重要作用,进一步加强党对教育工作的全面领导,牢牢抓住立德树人这一根本任务,努力培养社会主义建设者和接班人,进一步加强教师队伍建设,坚持扎根中国大地办教育,努力推动实现教育强国梦。

At the National Education Conference, General Secretary Xi Jinping systematically summed up the great achievements of education since the Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC, fully emphasized the importance of promoting the development of education, and made a new strategic deployment to strengthen and improve education in the coming period. The key to education to the society’s satisfaction lies in the “9 adherences”, which is a profound understanding of the current situation of education in China, an accurate understanding of the law of education, and a fundamental guide to promote modernization of education. Colleges and universities, while implementing the “9 adherences” in running education to the society’s satisfaction, must fully understand the important role of education in the overall development strategy, further strengthen the Party’s overall leadership of education, firmly insist on cultivating people on the basis of morality education, and strive to train socialist builders and successors, and further strengthen the development of the teaching staff, adhere to education rooted in Chinese characteristics, to realize the dream of building a powerful country in education.
