Yellow River Management during the Period of Pingyuan Province

平原省作为1949年后设立并短期存在的省份,在国家和当地群众的支援下,在治黄防汛、修堤滞洪、兴修水利等方面采取了一系列措施,有效地减轻了黄河的水患,为以后黄河的大规模兴利除害打下基础,也提供了宝贵的治河经验。同时,平原省的治河工作也对当时中国的经济恢复和社会主义建设做出了贡献。

As a province in the early days of the founding of New China and with the support of the state and the local people,the Pingyuan Province has taken measures to prevent flood,repair levees,detain flood and build water conservancy.These measures effectively alleviate the Yellow River’s disasters,lay a foundation for the large-scale development of the Yellow River in the future,and also provide valuable experience in river management.At the same time,the river management work in Pingyuan Province also contributed to the economic recovery and socialist construction of New China.
