Culture Heritage Code of a Family's Prosperity——Interpretation of Zeng Guofan's Family Instruction

It is a good cultural tradition of the Chinese nation to pay attention to family instructions since childhood. Zeng Guofan's family instruction is the peak of Chinese traditional official family instructions. The teaching of "eight foundations" is the core of Zeng's family instruction. The author makes an in-depth interpretation of "eight foundations" from three aspects: reading as the basis of self-improvement and self-reliance;filial piety, quietness, honesty and diligence as the root of self-cultivation and family unity;and making a fortune as the shame of engaging in politics. The cultural and educational values contained in the "right foundations" are of enlightening and referential significance to cultivate and maintain the core values of socialism, and promote the formation of a new fashion of socialist family civilization, which is patriotism, love, benevolence and share.
