张载以"为往圣继绝学"作为自己一生奋斗的学术使命。为实现这一使命,他深入批判佛、道思想,系统诠释儒家经典,着力建构以"民胞物与"为核心的理学思想体系,认真从事以"德治礼制"为特征的社会实践。张载创立的关学学派,既为宋明新儒学举行了奠基礼,又是"为往圣继绝学"的新成就。在实现传统文化的创造性转化、创新性发展的新时代,其为实现学术使命而切实奋斗的精神,应当得到继承和光大。

Zhang Zai takes"tracing the lost learnings of ancient sages"as his academic commitment for his whole life.In order to realize this commitment,he has made a deep criticism of the Buddhist and Taoist thought and also a systematic interpretation of the Confucian classics.He also makes an attempt to set up a systematic Confucian school of idealist philosophy of the Song and Ming dynasties with universal love at the core and follows the social practice of ruling by virtue and rituals.The Guan School,initiated by Zhang Zai,not only lays a foundation for the new Confucianism of the Song and Ming dynasties,but also represents a new achievement for"tracing the lost learnings of the ancient sages".In this new epoch of the creative shift and development of the traditional culture,his spirit to pursue the academic commitment should be promoted and carried forward.
