The Modern Inheritance and Innovation of Ivory Carving Technique in Yangzhou

扬州牙刻属浅刻技法,在我国象牙雕刻史上独树一帜。扬州牙刻由竹刻发展而来,历代名家辈出,具有极高的美术文化价值。通过梳理扬州牙刻技艺的传承脉络、发展现状,发现存在保护机制不全、学校教育不力、非遗保护不够及原料供给不足等问题。要使扬州牙刻技艺可持续发展,需从保护方式、传承方式、宣传方式和工艺材料等方面进行创新。

Yangzhou ivory carving is a shallow engraving technique, which is unique in the history of ivory carving in China and was developed from bamboo carvings, with generations of famous masters and high artistic and cultural value. This paper sorts out the inheritance and development status of Yangzhou ivory carving technique. Then it discusses the existing problems like incomplete protection mechanism, inadequate school education, inadequate intangible cultural heritage protection and insufficient supply of raw materials, etc. Finally, it comes up with some innovative measures from the aspects of protection, inheritance, publicity and craft materials, so as to keep the sustainable development of ivory carving technique in Yangzhou.
