摘要
20世纪20年代末,厄普顿·辛克莱的艺术理论著作Mammonart一书在中国文艺界引起了巨大反响,尤其是创造社成员利用其中"艺术是宣传"的言论作为提倡革命文学的标语。郁达夫于1928-1929年持续翻译了此书的21个章节,并把此书命名为《拜金艺术》。郁达夫翻译此书不仅仅是因为兴趣,更重要的是因为郁达夫想借此书表达自己对文学与社会的态度。
In the late 1920’s, Upton Sinclair’s art theory works Mammonart caused a huge response in the Chinese literary arts, especially the Creation Society members using the speech All Art Is Propaganda advocated the revolutionary literature. Yu Da-fu was interested in Mammonart, and he continued to translate 21 chapters of the book from 1928 to 1929. Yu Da-fu translated this book not only because of interest, but also because he wanted to express his attitude of literature and society through this book.
