“近代华阳国志”里的“新女性”——地域文化和地方历史视野下李劼人“大河小说”中的女性形象

Female Images in Li Jieren's “Dahe Novels” from the Perspective of Regional Culture and Local History

地域文化对李劼人的写作产生了显著的影响,他在"大河小说"中塑造的大胆、叛逆、泼辣的女性形象就与之有着密切的联系。这可从巴蜀历史上叛逆、大胆的女性层出不穷这一现象得到印证。原因就在于:其一,多次的移民迁徙活动使得巴蜀地区家族制度衰败、儒家文化淡化,从而为巴蜀女性的"越轨"行为提供了条件;其二,道家文化中对"个人"的强调与对礼教的反抗又为她们进一步的叛逆提供了思想上的动力。而无论是在反叛的行为上,还是推动其反叛的思想上,身处于辛亥革命之前的巴蜀女性都闪现着新女性的光辉。

The regional culture has exerted a significant influence on Li Jiren’s writing, for the bold, rebellious and pungent female images he has delineated in his "Dahe novels" are closely related to it, which can be confirmed in the incessant emergence of rebellious and bold females in the history of Bashu(what is now the central and eastern part of Sichuan, a majority of Chongqing and some regions in Shaanxi, Guizhou, etc). The reasons are as follows: firstly, repeated migration activities led to the decline of the family system and the weakening of the Confucian culture in Bashu, thus providing conditions for the "deviant" behavior of women there;secondly, the emphasis on "individualism" and the resistance to ritualism in Taoist culture provided the ideological impetus for women’s further rebellion. Therefore, be it in the act of rebellion or the promotion of the idea of rebellion, women in Bashu prior to the Revolution of 1911 were radiant with the glory of new females.
