Referring to QIAN Zhongshu's "two handles and multiple sides" metaphor theory, this paper conducted a cognitive analysis and meaning explanation of the dichotomy and bidirectional category existing in the study of traditional Chinese medicine theory. QIAN' s theory provides a new comprehensive, holistic and dynamic cognitive analysis tool for the dichotomy and bidirectional category in traditional Chinese medicine theory, and the multi-level relationship reality between them and the expression of their multiple meanings.
