摘要
1953年西藏运输总队成立后,慕生忠一面组织运粮事宜,一面开始筹划在青藏线筑路。发现格尔木入藏新线后,慕生忠为了勘测在此线筑路的可行性,派出两支马车探路队入藏。1954年初探路成功后,慕生立即到北京申请筑路,在彭德怀的帮助下,周恩来总理批准了请示修筑青藏公路(格尔木到可可西里段)的报告。随后,慕生忠借助西藏运输总队的班底建立起了筑路队伍。青藏公路的决策过程,体现了新中国成立初慕生忠等老一辈的革命家和建设者赤诚的爱国情怀和开发祖国边疆的昂扬斗志。
After the establishment of the Tibetan Transport Corps in 1953, Mu Shengzhong began to prepare for Qinghai-Tibet highway construction while they organized the grain transport. After the discovery of the new line to Tibet which pass through the Golmud, Mu sent two wagon groups to investigate the feasibility of building highway along the line. In early 1954, both these two teams arrived at their destination successfully. Mu immediately went to Beijing to apply for the highway construction after he received this telegram. With the help of Peng Dehuai, Premier Zhou Enlai approved the report on the construction of the Qinghai-Tibet Highway (Golmud to Hoh Xil section). Subsequently, Mu set up a highway construction team on the basis of the Tibetan Transport Corps.The decision making process of Qinghai-Tibet highway construction reflects the sincere patriotism and the high fighting spirit of developing the frontier of the motherland of the revolutionaries and builders of the older generation such as Mu Shengzhong in the Early Years of New China.
