摘要
英汉旅游景介在视角、内容和文本类型上存在较大差异。英语景介以游客为出发点,内容上以通俗描述为主,侧重客观写实,文本类型上以信息型为主,兼具感染型;汉语景介以景点本身为出发点,内容上以专业说明为主,追求主客观交融,文本类型则以信息型为主,兼具表情型。考虑到英汉语景介的差异性和英语游客的接受性,汉语景介英译时需要加以改写,既要转换视角,又要化专业说明为通俗描述,并去虚存实、去虚增实。
English and Chinese tourist attraction descriptions differ in perspective, content and text type.English tourist attraction description is tourists-oriented while the Chinese one is attraction- centered.In terms of content, the former features plain descriptions in an objective and realistic manner while the latter attaches importance to technical descriptions integrating the subjective and the objective.English tourist attraction descriptions are dominantly informative with the operative function as well;while the Chinese ones are mainly informative with the expressive function at the same time.The strategy of rewriting is therefore frequently adopted in translating the Chinese tourist attraction descriptions into English to produce a natural English version of tourist attractions description that appeals to the English tourists.Rewriting works well by converting perspective and by converting technical descriptions into plain descriptions,retaining and adding the essential objective information while deleting the non-essential subjective information.
