Georges Cordier and Yunnan-Fu Museum

1908年,法国人乔治·高德耶来到云南昆明。在云南期间,他先后发表《云南府博物馆》和《增补云南府博物馆》两篇论文,记录了云南府博物馆成立的时间地点、管理情况、展览设计、藏品与展品、奠基人孙光庭的事迹等内容。据其记载,云南府博物馆成立于1901年,是一座官办的综合性博物馆。除举办中国传统的人文历史和金石字画展览以外,还举办自然博物展、农业展、地质展、少数民族博物展和美术展等;此外,也兼具博览会、商品交易会和动物园的功能。同时,云南府博物馆还与外国博物馆开展交换展览等合作。本文首先回顾乔治·高德耶的生平以及云南府博物馆成立的时代背景,然后针对乔治·高德耶对云南府博物馆的记录进行分析和论述,进而发掘其在中国博物馆发展史和博物馆学研究中的价值。

Georges Cordier,a famous Frenchman in modern Yunan came to Kunming in 1908.During his stay in Yunnan,he published two articles "Le Musée de Yunnan-fou" and "Note additionnelle sur le Musée de Yunnan-fou",recording the founding date and location of Yunnan-Fu Museum as well as its administration,exhibition design,collection,exhibits and stories of the museum founder Sun Guangting.Founded in 1901,Yunnan-Fu Museum was a state-run comprehensive museum.It held exhibitions not only on traditional history,epigraph,calligraphy and painting but also on natural history,agriculture,geology,minor ethnic culture and aesthetic works.Besides,it also functioned as an expo,a trade affair and a zoo.Yunnan-Fu Museum cooperated with foreign museums in terms of exhibition exchange.With a review on the life experience of Georges Cordier and the historical background of Yunnan-Fu Museum’s founding,this article summarizes Cordier’s record on the museum and probes into its value in the history of Chinese museum development and museology.
