Aesthetic Study of Ancient Chinese Women's Eyebrow Makeup

中国古代男性统治者对女性妆饰行为的干涉和女性对眉毛的修饰与美化造就了中国独特的"眉文化",文人对女性眉妆的描摹、生发和想象使中国的眉文化更加蔚为壮观。综观先秦至清朝的女性眉妆演变轨迹可以发现,虽然不同朝代都会出现新奇的眉妆,但线条流畅形态莞尔的蛾眉、远山眉、新月眉、柳叶眉等眉妆却随着朝代的更迭,幻化成了经典,这些经典的眉形黛色折射出中国古人一脉相承的审美倾向:线条的灵动美、自然的生态美、女性的悲情美。

The interference of Chinese male rulers on women's makeup behavior and the modification and beautification of women's eyebrows have created China's unique"eyebrow culture".The description,growth and imagination of women's eyebrow make Chinese eyebrow culture more spectacular.Looking at the evolution of women's eyebrow makeup from pre-Qin to Qing Dynasty,we can find that although novel eyebrow makeup appeared in different dynasties,the eyebrow makeup with smooth lines,such as moth's eyebrow,distant mountain eyebrow,crescent eyebrow and willow eyebrow,changed into classics with the change of dynasties,and these classical eyebrow-shaped Dai colors reflected the lineage of Chinese ancients.These classic eyebrows reflect the aesthetic tendency of the ancient Chinese in the same vein:the dynamic beauty of the lines,the ecological beauty of nature,and the sad beauty of women.
