摘要
在面板设计中,数据线负载较大会引起信号延迟时间长、源IC温度过高、功耗上升等不利后果。随着面板尺寸增大以及分辨率升高,数据线负载高造成的不良影响愈加严重。本文提出了一种倒置U型的像素TFT结构,区别于传统的U型TFT设计,将像素TFT的源极与漏极形状互换,可以降低数据线与栅线的交叠面积,进而降低数据线负载电容。将这种像素设计搭载23.6HD ADS产品进行了实验验证,结果表明,采用倒置U型TFT设计面板的光学参数与传统U型设计面板基本一致,数据线负载电容下降24%,功耗下降10%,源IC温度下降7.1%。
Large data load causes undesirable effects containing long signal delay time,high source IC temperature, high power consumption,etc. These effects become more critical with the increasing panel size and resolution. A kind of inverted U-type TFT distinguished from conventional U-type TFT was proposed in this paper. The layout shape of TFT source and drain was exchanged to decrease the overlay area between data line and gate line. The data load became smaller as to the smaller overlay area. Inverted U-type TFT design was applied to a 598 mm(23.6 in) HD ADS half panel. It achieved similar optical parameters with conventional U-type TFT panel. Data capacity decreased by 24%, power consumption decreased by 10%, and source IC temperature decreased by 7.1% compared with conventional U-type TFT panel.
