摘要
瑶族历史悠久,群结构复杂繁杂,文化丰富多彩,具有极高的学术研究价值。但瑶族研究起步晚,二十世纪八十年代以前,瑶族研究队伍小、视野不够开阔,高水平成果不多。作为世界上有影响的人类学家乔健先生,二十世纪八十年代到香港中文大学创办人类学系并担任创系主任,在理论和方法上按照国际前沿的理论与方法指导瑶族研究,亲自深入瑶族地区调查,撰写文章,提出不少关于瑶族历史文化的新见解,深化与拓展了瑶族研究,为瑶学研究国际化做出了示范。他还发起成立国际瑶族研究协会并担任首任执委会主席,推动瑶族研究国际化的进程。
The ethnic Yao has a long history, complex group structure, rich and colorful culture, thus it is of high academic research value. However, the Yao research started late, the Yao research team was small, the vision was not broad enough, and the high-level achievements were not much before the 1980s. Mr. Qiao Jian, a world-renowned anthropologist, founded the Department of Anthropology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in the 1980s. He guided the Yao studies according to the cutting-edge advancement of the discipline of anthropology both theoretically and methodologically, personally conducted in-depth investigations in Yao areas, wrote articles, put forward many new ideas on Yao history and culture, and deepened and expanded Yao studies, setting a model for internationalization of the Yao research. He also organized the World Yao Research Association and was elected as the first president of the consecutive committee, promoting the process of internationalization of the Yao research.
