Cultivation of Morality: The Endogenous Force of Huizhou Merchants' Development in Ming and Qing Dynasty

不利的自然环境和北民南迁所造成的人口膨胀,使得徽州人不得不外出经商。面对外界陌生的环境和激烈的竞争,徽商为赢得商业的主动权,通过对教育的关注、对诚信的坚持和对朋友及合伙人的慎选等途径,不断加强自身修养,创造了明清徽商发展的奇迹并成就了"徽骆驼"精神。在新时代,徽商的修身途径对实现美丽中国和促进个人健康发展都具有重要启迪意义。

Unfavourable natural environment and the population expansion caused by the migration of north people force Huizhou people to go out to engage in business deals. In the face of unfamiliar environment and fierce competition from the outside world, Huizhou merchants, by taking the initiative to win business and constantly paying attention to education, the persistence of integrity and the choice of friends and partners and so on, continue to strengthen their self-cultivation, create the miracle of the development of Huizhou merchants in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and mould the spirit of "the Hui camel". In this new era, Huizhou merchants’ approaches to the cultivation of morality have important enlightenment for the realization of beautiful China and the promotion of the healthy development of individuals.
