On Liao Kedui's Teaching Method for the History of Foreign Theatre

廖可兑,中央戏剧学院著名教授。他的专著《西欧戏剧史》荣获第一届中国戏剧理论著作奖、高等院校优秀教材一等奖。他开设的"外国戏剧史"课程是戏剧学院各个专业学生的必修课。他教学上最大的特点就是在梳理西欧戏剧发展线索与历史的过程中,讲究系统性、科学性与全面性,做到点面结合,重点突出;他注重对经典剧本的分析研究,注意培养学生的戏剧学科思维;他借助校外名师的力量培养博士生,为戏剧学学科建设与人才培养做出了卓越的贡献。

Mr. Liao Kedui is a prominent professor in the Central Academy of Drama. His treatise History of West European Theatre won the first Chinese Theatrical Theory Work Award and the first prize of Excellent University Textbook. His course History of Foreign Theatre is a required course for students majoring in theater studies. The most outstanding feature of his teaching method is to emphasize the systematic, scientific and comprehensive interpretation, integrate details into the whole fabric and stress the key points in the process of combing the clue and history of the development of western European theatre. He lays emphasis on the analysis of classic plays and the training of students’ disciplinary thinking of theatre. He cultivates doctoral candidates with the help of well-known teachers from other universities, and makes outstanding contributions to the theatre discipline construction and talent training.
