摘要 Borrowing the methods and findings of Janice Radway’s study in the relationship between audience and texts,this thesis takes a group of English majors(all female)in Guangdong Ocean University(GDOU)as a sample,analyzes their habit of reading romantic fiction in order to reveal that those romantic stories play a key role in shaping reader’s self-identity during college time.
