当前经济学的发展明显滞后于现实经济的发展需要,一个重要原因是进入21世纪的人类社会发展背景出现了深刻变化,而现行经济学的发展未能及时适应这种深刻变化。在人口老龄化成为21世纪不可逆转的常态之背景下,人口老龄化对经济学发展必将产生重要影响。人口老龄化是当前经济社会基本背景的一种深刻变化,由此将催生新的经济理论乃至新的经济学科。为了适应老龄经济分析的需要,亟待在经济学框架内建立与发展老龄经济学。老龄经济学是在经济学框架内,研究以人口老龄化为基本约束条件的经济学分支学科,其中,人口老龄化深刻改变资源的稀缺性,是老龄经济学的立论基础。

For the time being,the development of economics lags far behind that of the real economy,an important reason for which is that current economics has not been able to adapt in time to the profound changes in the background of human societies in the 21st century.Population ageing has become irreversible and thus it will sure to have a great influence on the evolvement of economics.Population ageing,a profound change in the current economic and social background,will expedite the generation of new economic theories and even new disciplines.In order to meet the needs of economic analysis against the backdrop of population ageing,we need to urgently establish and develop the economics of ageing within the framework of economics.The economics of ageing is a subdiscipline of economics that studies the ageing of population within the framework of economics.Population ageing can greatly change the scarcity of resources and therefore serves as the theoretical basis of the economics of ageing.
