“改良吾国新闻事业”:民国初期上海新闻界的新闻学术活动

“Improving Our Country's Journalism”:Journalistic Academic Events of the Shanghai Press in the Early Republic of China

民国初期,上海新闻界在实践中不断深化对新闻职业、新闻教育和研究的认知,率先倡导新闻教育和新闻学术研究,并联合创建上海新闻记者联欢会,以及新闻学演讲会、上海新闻学会、上海报学社等新闻学术团体。各类新闻团体取鉴异域,开展有组织的学术活动,或筹设新闻大学,或普及新闻知识,致力本土新闻教育和学术研究。这种努力在一定程度上弥补了已有新闻教育之不足,不仅缩短了人才培养周期,也提高了从业人员的素养,扩充其识力,开拓其视野,改良新闻事业,从而加速近代新闻职业化进程。

In the early Republic of China,the Shanghai press constantly deepened its understanding of journalism,journalism education and research.It took the lead in advocating journalism education and research and jointly founded Shanghai journalists’get-together as well as journalistic academic organizations like Journalism Lecture Club,Shanghai Journalism Society and Shanghai Newspaper Society.These organizations were dedicated to local journalism education and academic researches by learning from other fields,organizing academic events,establishing journalism universities and popularizing journalistic knowledge.All these efforts had,to a certain extent,made up for the deficiency of journalism education then.As a result,journalists’training periods were shortened and the professionals’quality was improved as they gained new knowledge and broadened horizon.Besides,these efforts ameliorated the journalistic cause and speeded up the professionalization of modern journalism.
