Annie Proulx is one of the representatives of the contemporary regional literature in America.Her works mainly involve the ecological theme,which focuses on the protection of the original ecological environment and the critique of the alienation of modern city as well as the anthropocentrism propelled by materialism.This thesis explores how Proulx has manifested her ecological theme:the creation of different narrative spaces has highlighted the nature’s power in human’s spiritual growth;typical character and images have conveyed the ecological holism the author has eulogized;meanwhile Proulx’exploration in ecological narrative structure has enriched her works’narrative levels and ecological themes.
