On the Influence of Cultural Differences on English-Chinese Translation

英语和汉语是两种不同文化背景和国家背景下产生的两种不同类型的语言文化体系。英语和汉语作为国际社会应用范围最广和应用人数最多的语言类型,其相互之间的沟通与交流对于文化的发展具有非常重要的意义。由于文化背景、语言习惯等因素的影响,在英语和汉语的翻译中存在很大的障碍,应分析原因,阐明文化因素对于英汉翻译所造成的影响,尽可能克服文化差异,减小对翻译工作的负面影响。

English and Chinese are two different types of linguistic and cultural systems produced in two different cultural backgrounds and national contexts.As the most popular and widely used language in the international community,English and Chinese are very important for the development of culture thanks to the mutual communication and exchanges.Due to the influence of cultural background and language habits,there are great obstacles in the translation of English and Chinese.In this sense,we should analyze the reason,clarify the influence of cultural factors on English-Chinese translation,overcome cultural differences as much as possible,and alleviate the negative impact on translation.
