A shell and tube heat exchanger is designed,built and used in 3 different companies generally,and it should be paid different attentions to deferent stages. Design factors,manufacture quality and maintainability of a shell and tube heat exchangers is important in a refinery plant,on reliability,safe and long term operation and maintenance situation. In an end user’s opinion, the following additional technique requirements on design and manufacture in this paper should be taken into account during ordering equipment. It will meet the demand satisfied on installation and running by the user,the quality of the heat exchanger will heighten obviously and then ensures process operation and equipment management in a good condition. The domestic petrochemical equipment manufacture level will be promoted also. These suggestions have been practiced and the results are very good without price increase.
