On the Territory of Yelang

夜郎在战国时期仅为弹丸小国,认为夜郎为称霸一方大国的观点缺乏依据。夜郎在汉初才趋于强大。夜郎国全盛时期的疆域约相当于贵州的三分之二:东至黄平,北至遵义,西北至赫章、威宁,西南至兴义,南至红水河。夜郎国都应位于贵阳、安顺之间。

It is generally agreed that during the Warring States period Yelang played the tyrant in a locality,but in fact that is not the case.At that time,it was only a tiny country.In its heyday,the equivalent of territory of Yelang is two-thirds of Guizhou province:starting at Huangping county in the east and ending up at Hezhang county and Weining county in the west;starting at Zunyi city inthe north and ending up at the Xingyi city and Hongshuihe river.The capital of Yelang should be located between Guiyang city and Anshun city.
