In February 2017,the IEC 62133:2012 Secondary cells and batteries containing alkaline or other non-acid electrolytes-Safety requirements for portable sealed secondary cells,and for batteries made from them,for use in portable applications(lithium battery part)was updated to EEC 62133-2:2017 Secondary cells and batteries containing alkaline or other non-acid,electrolytes-Safety requirements for portable sealed secondary cells,and for batteries made from them,for use in portable applications-Part 2:Lithium systems by The International Electrotechnical Commission.The similarities and differences between the new and old versions of the standard framework,testing and labeling requirements were discussed.A theoretical reference for the safe production and use of lithium battery from the testing industry perspective was provided.
