Building of China-Indochina Peninsula Economic Corridor:Potential,Challenges and Countermeasures

中南半岛是共同推进“一带一路”建设的重要区域,中国与中南半岛国家无论是在政治、经济还是人文方面都有着深厚的合作基础。然而,受“中国威胁论”以及以美国、日本和印度为代表的大国竞争与博弈加剧等因素的影响,中南半岛国家对中国提出的“一带一路”倡议的意图依然存在疑问和防范心态。在反全球化和贸易保护主义浪潮冲击下,中国应从双边层次上细化对中南半岛国家的国情研究,因地制宜、因时制宜地推动双方发展战略的有效对接;同时,加强中美之间的安全对话,打消中南半岛国家“选边站”的顾虑,稳步推进中国—中南半岛经济走廊的建设。

The Indochina Peninsula is an important region to jointly promote the B&R initiative.Both sides have a solid foundation for cooperation in terms of politics,economy and people-to-people exchange.However,influenced by the“China Threat Theory”and the strong competition and game intensification represented by the United States,Japan and India,the Indochina Peninsula countries still have doubts and precautions about the intentions of China’s B&R initiative.Under the impact of the wave of anti-globalization and trade protectionism,China should refine its research on the national conditions of the Indochina Peninsula countries from the bilateral level,and promote the effective docking of the development strategies of the two sides in accordance with local conditions and time conditions;at the same time,it should strengthen the security dialogue between China and the United States,dispel the concerns of the countries of Indochina Peninsula about“side-selecting”,and steadily promote the construction of China-Indochina Peninsula Economic Corridor.
