A Brief Analysis of Implication from “Feng(峰)” to “Shanfeng(山峰)”

“从隐含到呈现”是汉语词汇发展史上一种重要的现象。“峰”呈现为“山峰”是“从隐含到呈现”的一组典型例证。“山峰”一词最早见于晋代文献中,唐代至明代的使用频率较低,清代时使用频率增高。“山峰”一词呈现出来的原因有二:一是词义泛化,二是词义抽象化。

“From Implication to Presentation”is an important phenomenon in the development of vocabulary.“Feng(峰)”presenting to“shanfeng(山峰)”is a set of typical examples.“Shanfeng(山峰)”began to appear in Jin Dynasty and was used less frequently from Tang Dynasty to Ming Dynasty.In Qing Dtnasty,the usage of“shanfeng(山峰)”increased.There are two reasons why“shanfeng(山峰)”appears,one is semantic generalization,the other is semantic abstraction.
