Applicationof Schema Theory in Classical Chinese Translation——Taking Cuzhi(促织) by Pu Songling as an Example

图式理论作为发展十分成熟的认知理论,近年来多用于教学领域的研究,在一定程度上也涉足英译中翻译等相关领域,但将其应用于中译英,尤其文言文翻译研究却很少。本文在图式理论的三个主要分支指导下,以《促织》为例,对文言文翻译进行分析,探讨译文如何让读者完成认知理解。在为翻译学者翻译传统文学作品提供一定的策略参考时,又能为语言学学者研究文学作品提供新的思路与启示,具有一定的创新意义。

Schema theory,as a well-developed cognitive theory,has been mostly applied in the field of education in recent years.To a certain extent,it has also been involved in English-Chinese translation.However,it is rarely applied to Chinese-English translation,especially classical Chinese translation.Therefore,with the guidance of the three major branches of schema theory,this paper takes Cuzhi(促织)written by Pu Songlingas an example to analyze the translation of classical Chinese worksand explores how the translated text enables readers to understand.While providing some strategies for translators to translate traditional literary works,this paper also provides new ideas and inspirations for linguists to study literary works with linguistic theories,which isof innovative significance.
