Research on Shanxi Merchants’ Commercial Road Between Shanxi and Beijing in the Ming and Qing Dynasties

明清时期沟通北京与山西的商路是山西商人跨区域贸易的重要通道。京晋两地之间商路的主体是长途贸易的山西商人,商路不仅包括交通路线,也包括运输方式和成本以及沿商路的保障服务体系等方面。晋商路程和规程类文书以及晋商会馆碑刻等民间文献展示了山西商人在商路上从事长途贩运的细节。

During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the commercial road between Beijing and Shanxi was an important channel for Shanxi businessmen. The subject of business routes between Beijing and Jin are Shanxi businessmen with long-distance trade. Business road include not only transportation routes, but also transportation modes and costs, and the guarantee service system along the trade routes. Folk documents such as Shanxi merchants’ regulation documents and inscriptions of Shanxi Huiguan(Guild) show the details of Shanxi merchants engaged in long-distance trade on commercial roads.
