Execution function plays a central role in children's physical and mental development. This research studies the role of sports activities in improving children's executive function development and provides a theoretical and practical basis.By means of literature review and expert interviews, this paper reviews the development of theory and experiment research and the development of children's executive function under short-term and long-term sports intervention. The results show that the three factor theory of executive function has reached a consensus.Short-term and long-term sports activities can bring positive effects on children's executive function.Among them, moderate intensity sports activities are considered to bring more significant benefits. The integrated model of sports promoting executive function and life development comprehensively reflects the direct, medium and mediating relationship among sports, executive function and personal development.
