This paper mainly studies the methods of reducing medium consumption in the production of dense medium coal preparation. Through discussing the technology of dense medium coal preparation, the paper analyses the present situation of medium consumption in coal preparation plants in China, puts forward the factors affecting medium loss in coal preparation plants, and seeks for effective methods to reduce medium consumption in the production of dense medium coal preparation. It is hoped that while reducing medium consumption, the economic benefits of relevant coal preparation enterprises will be improved, social progress and development will be further promoted, and contribution to sustainable development strategy will be made.
