“人事”构成了《边城》叙事的重要因素,不断推进了故事的演绎。偶然的“人事”阻碍了翠翠与傩送爱情主线的顺利发展,导致了不如人意的事情发生,引出故事中人物对“天意”与“命运”的顺应,致使故事中的人物最终走向了悲剧的结局,从中透露出沈从文对生命形式的认知与哲学思考。

"Human affairs" constitutes an important factor in the narrative of the Border Town, and it pushes the interpretation of the story constantly. The accidental "human affairs" hinders the smooth going of the main love line between Cuicui and Nuosong, leading to the occurrence of unsatisfactory things and the characters' obedience to the "providence" and "destiny", and it also eventually leads to a tragic ending of the story. Moreover, it reveals Shen Congwen's cognition and philosophical thinking about the life.
