Most of Astragali Radix residues in the production process of pharmaceuticals, health products and other industries are directly discarded or simply converted into low value-added products. The use of Astragali Radix is huge. If it is utilized by suitable means, its residues can become a valuable renewable resource and have broad application prospects in many fields. Therefore, finding efficient conversion pathways is of great significance for enhancing the value of resources, reducing environmental pollution, and maintaining the ecological balance of medicinal planting and processing bases. This article described the medical and economic value of Astragali Radix residues from the aspects of chemical compositions, pharmacological action and application research, and provided references for its comprehensive development and utilization.
