China reported a 6.4-percent growth in GDP for Q1 2019, surpassing forecasts of a 6.3 percent expansion. Global concern for China s slowing economy amidst the trade friction appear muted as stimuli from the Chinese Gov ernment, through tax cuts and looser monetaiy policies, have yielded positive results for the world s second largest econ omy. These positive figures need to continue over the next three quai ters, if China aims to achieve its annual growth tai'get of between 6 and 6.5 percent.
