Malaysia’s “Cinderella” Story: A Morphological Study of Folktale Bawang Putih dan Bawang Merah

马来西亚民间文学故事《红葱与白蒜》,是一则典型的“灰姑娘”型故事。这则民间故事在马来西亚流传甚广且流传至今,是民俗领域中经典的故事类型之一。文章运用结构主义文本分析理论,分别从故事的组织结构,故事场景的二元对立,故事角色象征内涵的二元对立三个层次对该故事进行叙事的形态学分析,发现故事中所蕴含的马来民族及其原住民意识形态的本质是万物有灵,相信神灵会以不同的形式对现实世界产生影响。

Malaysia’s folktale Bawang Putih dan Bawang Merah is a typical “Cinderella” story.This folk story has been widely spread in Malaysia and has been handed down to the present;it is one of the classic story types in the folklore studies.This paper uses the text analysis Structuralism theory to analyze the narrative structure of the story,the binary opposition of the story scene,and the binary opposition of the connotation of the characters,and explore the essence of ideology of Malay nation and Malay aboriginals contained in the story is Animism. Gods will influence the real world in different forms.
