再辨“海昏”之“海”

Revisiting “Hai” in the word “Haihun”

关于"海昏"的含义,既然不能够从汉字本身的训诂得到合理的解释,就应该从民族融合和民族语言的角度加以考察。在汉文典籍中保存了大量非汉族语言资料,尤其以人名、地名为多,"海昏"即其中一例,是先秦赣鄱地区古越族地名在典籍中的记录。"海昏"一词的构成符合古越语地名的齐头式结构。"海昏"之"海"是齐头式地名的冠首字,或为没有实质意义的语气词,与"昏"构成了古越语多音节单字地名,与古越族部落名有关;或为古越语地名的中心词,对照古越族后裔的侗台语族壮语中"海"的"河滩"之义,可以发现"海昏"之"海"与缭河附近的历史地理环境相当吻合。这可以作为"海昏"是古越族地名的参考。

Since the meaning of Haihun can not be reasonably explained by ancient Chinese classics,it should be studied from the perspective of assimilation and languages of ethnic groups.A large number of non\|Han language materials are preserved in the Chinese classics,especially the names of people and place.Haihun is one of them,which is recorded toponym by Gu Yue ethnic group in today's Jiangxi Province around Poyang Lake area before Qin Dynasty.The structure of the word Haihun,which is aliterative,is in accordance with toponym in Gu Yue ethnic group.Hai is the first character of the aliteration.It may be a word without actual meaning but go with Hun and becomes a polysyllable as a name of the place which is associated to a tribe's name in Gu Yue ethnic group.It also may be the central word of a place name in the Gu Yue language.Hai means river beach in the Zhuang language of the Dongtai ethnic group,who are the descendants of the Gu Yue ethnic group.Compared with this,it can be found that the meaning of Hai in the word Haihun is consistent with the historical geographical environment near the river.This can be used as a reference for the place names of the Gu Yue ethnic group.
