在日常对话中,人们经常有意识地使用一些填充词。看似无任何意义的填充词却在语用中起着非常重要的作用。本文探讨了中英文填充词出现的内在原因,以及话语产生的语用功能。此外填充词并不是无意义的,而是在话轮转换中顺利进行的一个重要保证。

In daily conversations,participants always adopt a few fillers with consciousness.The fillers seem meaningless but are playing significant roles in the use of languages.The paper studies the inner reasons of the fillers and their functions.Besides,it is found that the fillers are so meaningful that they have become the important elements in the successful turn-takings.
