He blended the unique folk materials of the minority nationalities in western Hunan, and combined literature with folk culture to build the unique aesthetic cultural implication of the novels. The formation of this cultural implication was closely related to his life experience in his youth, his inner world's pursuit of the true state of life, and the general ethos of literary creation in the May 4th movement period.
