Objective To investigate the relationship between hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), blood lipid and cervical vascular plaque calcification. Methods A total of 196 patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease (including TIA and cerebral infarction) admitted in our hospital were divided into carotid calcified plaque group and non-carotid calcified plaque group according to the CTA examination, and the levels of serum triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and hs-CRP in the two groups were measured for comparative study and correlation analysis. Results CTA results of 196 patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease showed that 90 cases had carotid calcified plaque and 106 cases had non-carotid calcified plaque. The serum HDL level in the carotid calcified plaque group was significantly lower than that in the non-carotid calcified plaque group, while the hs-CRP level was higher than that in the non-carotid calcified plaque group (P<0.05).Simple linear regression analysis showed that serum hs-CRP was positively correlated with TG and LDL (r=0.356, 0.281, P<0.05) and negatively correlated with HDL (r=-0.151, P<0.05).Conclusion Hs-CRP is associated with cervical vascular plaque calcification, and blood lipid is the main independent factors affecting hs-CRP.
