成都市公共交通标示语双语平行语料库建设研究

Research on the Construction of Bilingual Parallel Corps of Public Traffic Signs in Chengdu

本文分析了公共交通标示语的定义和特点,简要讨论了成都市公共交通标示语英译中存在的英译错误,着重介绍了成都市公共交通标示语双语平行语料库的建设过程,最后指出了该语料库的建库思路的新颖之处。本文对改进成都市公共交通标示语英译质量以及提升成都市国际形象具有重要意义。

This paper analyzed the definition and characteristics of public traffic signs,discussed the inaccurate English translation of public traffic signs in Chengdu,and introduced the building process of Chengdu’s bilingual parallel corpus of public traffic signs. Finally,it points out the novelty of the concept idea in building such a corpus. This paper is of great significance to improve the quality of English translation of public transport signage in Chengdu and to enhance the international image of Chengdu.
