In Proust’s In Search of Lost Time,countless visual images and art forms are used to portray images,construct scenes and express perception of life.Art symbols,such as painting,architecture,photography and costume,have essential metaphoric function and enlightenment significance,of which the references to image art become primary pathways to pursue lost time,explore the course of life and reveal the spirit world.The characters and things of this masterpiece are transferred to the eternal aesthetic vision of visual art,meanwhile time and memory are conceived as a series of spatial images.Therefore,an "art novel"with rich emotional experiences,aesthetic insights and philosophical implications was created.
