Objective: To investigate the feasibility and safety of metformin in the treatment of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Methods: 76 cases of patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver in a hospital from April 2014 to April 2016 were randomly divided into two groups. The control group was treated with polyene phosphatidyl choline, and the observation group was treated with polyene phosphatidylcholine combined with metformin. The liver function indexes and blood lipid indexes (ALT, AST, TG, TC) were compared between the two groups before and after treatment, and the clinical therapeutic effects of the two groups were evaluated. Results: After treatment, the ALT, AST, TG and TC levels of the two groups were significantly decreased ( P <0.05), and the ALT, AST, TG and TC of the observation group were significantly lower than the control group, the difference was statistically significant ( P <0.05). The observation group of patients with the total effective rate was 94.7%, the total effective rate of control group was 73.7%, the study group was significantly higher than the control group (χ^ 2 =7.3620, P =0.0004). Conclusion: The treatment of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease with metformin combined with polyene phosphatidyl choline can signifi-cantly improve liver function and reduce blood lipid level, with high feasibility, good safety, worthy of popularization and application.
