On Indian Philosophy and Comparative Philosophy of Modern Confucian Fang Dongmei

方东美是20世纪的中国学者群中,兼备哲学比较的使命与天才,并且探赜索微、妙有深造者,他对印度哲学的判教式结论,见于晚年在辅仁大学的讲课稿。根据其学生黄振华课堂笔记所整理出的《人生哲学讲义》为线索,探究方东美将印度哲学纳入他的智慧架构中的哲学企图,并从中印文明的关系中寻找其中的时代性启示,畅明华严互摄之妙理,兼含爱国保种之微义。

Fang Dongmei is one of the Chinese scholars with profound and subtle exploration in the 20th century who has both the mission and genius of philosophical comparison. His judgmental conclusions on Indian philosophy could be found in his lecture notes at Fu Jen Catholic University in his later years. According to his student Huang Zhenhua’s "Lectures on Philosophy of Life" as a clue, this paper aims to explore Fang Dongmei’s philosophical attempt to integrate Indian philosophy into his wisdom structure and seek for the enlightenment of the times from the relationship between Chinese and Indian civilizations, indicating both the mutual implication of Huayan Sect as well as the subtle meaning of patriotism and seed preservation.
