Teaching Research on the History of Foreign Literature in Chinese Department Based on the Visit to former residences of British Uriters

通过对外国文学作家的故居、博物馆访游既可利用所获取的一手资料厘清作家生平中的重要细节,并激发学生进一步探求这些细节如何影响作家的创作;又可发掘作家重要作品特别是创作动因较难探求的诗作的创作背景与动机,还可深入探究作家故居外部环境与其创作主旨之关联。

Through visits to the former residences and museums of foreign literary writers, first-hand research materials obtained can be used to clarify important details of the author’s life and inspire students to further explore how these details influence the author’s writing. We can also explore the creative background and motivation of important works, especially those poems that are difficult to explore, and explore the relationship between the external environment of the writer’s former residences and the main ideas of their works.
