On the Cultural Connotation of Thai Idioms Related to Animals

习语是语言的精华,是了解一国文化最好的工具之一。本文选取了泰语习语中有关动物的习语,列举出与牛、狗两种动物相关的习语,以对泰语习语定义的正确理解为基础,对泰语习语中有关牛、狗两种动物习语从其喻义上来进行比较,从这些有关动物的泰语习语中来探究其所蕴含的文化内涵。文章从习语中记载的动物文化现象为出发点,研究泰国民族文化的内涵,从而对我们更好的了解泰国文化,促进中泰文化交流、中泰跨文化交际教学有着积极的现实意义。

Idioms are the essence of language and one of the best tools for understanding a country's culture.This article selects the idioms about animals in Thai idioms,and lists the idioms related to cattle and dogs.Based on the correct understanding of the definition of idioms,the two idioms of cattle and dogs in Thai idioms are compared from their metaphors,and the culture connotations contained in these Thai idioms are explored.The article takes the animal culture phenomenon in the idiom as the starting point,studies the connotation of Thai culture,and promotes Chinese-Thai cultural exchange and intercultural communication teaching.
