哀祭文是祭奠死者、抒写悲哀的文类,其特点是强烈抒情,表现出较为鲜明的文学色彩。唐宋以降,使用最为普遍的是祭文。陆游所作哀祭文共1卷23首,人物对象广泛,感情真挚,体式丰富,颇具典范性。

Aiji writings, laments or eulogies for the deceased, are characterized by their intense expression of sorrow and distinct literary styles. Since the Tang and Song dynasties, the most widely adopted form has been ji writings, eulogies for funerals and a genre to which Lu You contributed 23 pieces in one volume. Dedicated to an extensive range of people and known for their formal diversity and sincere expression of affections, they are exemplary pieces in the genre.
