Theology and Ethics:The Duality Definitions of Zhang Zai’ Philosophy by Zhang Taiyan

近代学者章太炎曾对北宋的张载哲学进行过界定,认为张载哲学呈现出“神教”与“礼教”的“二重性”特征。明确章太炎对张载哲学二重界定的内涵,重新阐释张载“神道设教”的原初旨趣,不仅能够更加准确地把握张载哲学的思想脉络,而且对深刻理解儒学的发展与演变具有十分重要的意义。

Modern scholar Zhang Taiyan has given definition to Zhang Zai's philosophy in the North Song Dynasty,believing that Zhang Zai's thoughts presents the "duality" of theology and ethics.This paper clarifies the connotations of Zhang Taiyan's dual definition for Zhang Zai's philosophy,and reinterprets the original purpose of Zhang Zai educating people by Theology.This study not only grasps Zhang Zai's thoughts,but also has an important significance in understanding the development of Confucianism profoundly.
