Notes on the Reconstruction Design of the City God Temple in Nanning

以南宁市“三街两巷”保护整治为契机,历时18个月,南宁府城隍庙得以重建。重建设计工作从宗教和地域属性入手,依据传统规制和地域文化,采用广府建筑结构、材料和工艺,将消失已久的南宁府城隍庙重现于世,是传统宗教建筑和现代纪念建筑相结合的一次探索和尝试。

Taking the protection and rectification of“ three streets and two lanes” in Nanning as an opportunity, the Nanning Fucheng Temple was rebuilt in 18 months. Reconstruction design work starts from religious and regional attributes. Based on traditional regulations and regional culture, the structure, materials and techniques of Guangfu architecture are used to reproduce the long-destroyed Nanning Fucheng Temple, which is an exploration and experimentation in combing traditional religious building with modern memorial building.
