河南荥阳明代周懿王墓发掘简报

The Excavation of Tomb of King Yi of Vassal State Zhou in Ming Dynasty in Xingyang,Henan Province

明代周懿王墓位于河南荥阳贾峪镇鲁庄村,由主墓、祔葬墓、寝园建筑等多部分组成。其中主墓坐北向南,单室玄宫,是周懿王和王妃王氏的合葬墓,内壁有大面积保存较好的彩色壁画,内容表现的是西方极乐世界庄严圣境。周懿王墓的发掘,为研究明代王墓制度及宗教信仰等方面提供了全新的材料。

The tomb of King Yi, who was granted with Vassal State Zhou in Ming Dynasty, is located in Luzhuang Village, Jiayu Township, Xingyang County, Henan Province. It consists of a main tomb, subsidiary burial tombs and architectures in the yard,etc. The main tomb, a sing-chambered one, is a joint burial tomb of King Yi and his spouse whose family name was Wang. Inside this tomb, large patches of relatively well-preserved colored murals depicting the solemn and holy land of the Western Paradise have been found on the walls. The excavation of King Yi’s tomb has provided brand new materials for the study of Ming Vassal State Kings’ tombs, religious beliefs and other issues.
