Handicraft Villages in the Northern Vietnam

在悠长的越南工艺史上,越南的手工技艺早在乡村诞生之前的原始时代便已逐渐发展起来。到了公元10世纪以后,越南的工艺村发展迅速并形成了各自独树一帜的工艺特色,尤其是在北部红河流域河内周边地区的工艺村更是繁荣一时无两。这些工艺村数量庞大,这里仅对最为突出的手工艺作出选择并将它们大致分为了几类,分别对包括金属工艺村、陶瓷工艺村、髹漆工艺村、木雕工艺村、石雕工艺村、织绣工艺村、民画工艺村进行了归纳。依据相关材料,总结了各类工艺村的发展历史、工艺特色、工艺村的分布情况以及发展现状。

In the long history of Vietnam, craftsmanship developed from the primitive society, even earlier than the formation of villages. After 10th century AD, the han dicraft villages in the northern Vietnam became flouri ng, especially the villages around Hanoi near the Red River Delta. During this process, a number of villages with various craft characteristics arose. Although there are other important han dicraft types, they are selected and classified in several occupati onal craft villages as metalworki ng, pottery, lacquering, wood carving, stone carving, embroidery and weaving, folk paintings. According to related documents, for each type of handicraft selected only a number of villages to introduce, including a rough sketch of the craft's history, features, distribution and existing circumstances.
